Fourth grade had the opportunity to investigate plant and animal adaptations in science class! After looking at examples of different adaptations, and discussing how they help organisms survive, students had the chance to apply what they learned. They were challenged to camouflage butterflies in the classroom to help protect them from predators. They worked hard and made creative choices when camouflaging their butterflies! Can you find all the butterflies? #MTA #Science 🦋

Today, and every day, we celebrate and honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. May we always strive to lift those around us up and unite instead of divide. Let us commit to leading by his example of leadership and love!
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'"- Martin Luther King, Jr. #MLKDay

Friday was National Butter Day! First grade, second grade and middle school students had the chance to make butter. They shook heavy cream in containers until butter and buttermilk was formed inside. They were able to spread it on crackers to taste and add some spices for some extra flavor! We had a blast! #MTA #NationalButterDay 🧈

For the remaining days of November and leading up to Thanksgiving Break, MTA will be holding a canned food drive. Students are encouraged to bring in canned, non-perishable goods that we can donate to our local food pantry. This time of year, we give thanks for all we have and can spread love and kindness. We hope you will join us in aiding our community.
Students can bring their canned goods to Mrs. Rodgers Art room or dropped off in the main office. There will be a box outside of the room for collecting all of our canned goods. #MTA #Community 🥫

Third and fourth grade spent the week collaborating during math class! Students worked with a partner to design, plan, and create math games to practice math fluency. They had the chance to present their games to their peers and play each other’s games! #MTA #MathFun

Third and fourth grade had the chance to get in the spooky spirit by making Oobleck in science class! They took this opportunity to make predictions, record their observations, and discuss states of matter. It got a little messy, but they had a blast! #MTA #Science

Kindergarten hit the runway for their ABC Bootcamp Fashion Show on Friday! This year, we changed up our usual runway and involved the ENTIRE school! Students lined the hallways to cheer on their kindergarten friends as they strutted their stuff down the hallways of MTA to celebrate learning all the letters of the alphabet. Each day, students learned about a letter, talked about different things that start with that letter, and learned what sounds they make! It was so much fun to watch them show off their fashion walks and the amazing vests they created that were devoted to one specific letter! Great job kindergarten! #Kindergarten #ABCBootcamp 🔠🌟
