Our fourth annual “Winter Wonderland” holiday concert was held last Thursday and Friday. The Fifth Grade Ukulele Ensemble hit the stage with some fun tunes, including “Blue Christmas” and “Run, Rudolph, Run.” The “Singing Saints” gave us a tremendous rendition of “Mary, Did You Know.” Eighth Grade Percussion Jam jammed out to “Carol of the Bells” and “Holly Jolly Christmas.” The Third and Fourth Grade Chorale closed out the night by spreading Christmas cheer with “The Holly and the Ivy” and “Welcome Christmas.” First and second grade kicked it off on Friday with their set, including songs “Boogie of the Bells” and “Must Be Santa.” Third and Fourth Grade Chorale presented their set from the night before. Guests were also treated to cookies and treats! Happy holidays everyone! #MTA #WinterWonderland 🎄❄🎅🤶⛄

Ms. Fuhrman's class had so much fun making gingerbread houses as part of their STEM lesson this week! Students worked in teams to plan how they were going to build and decorate their houses. The class talked about what design plans worked well and what didn’t and received a sweet treat once they were done. Great teamwork second grade! #MTA #STEM

Saint Nicholas made an early stop at MTA today! Some of our seventh and eighth graders walked around to each class and shared his story. Students learned about his generosity, his life, and how they can follow his example by showing God’s love to others. K–2 even set their shoes out in the hallway and found candy canes waiting for them, and every grade enjoyed a special treat from St. Nick. A joyful way to prepare for his feast day tomorrow! #MTA

Students had the opportunity to view “The Man of the Shroud Exhibit” in St. Peter Cathedral last week. The exhibit featured a full-length photographic replica of the Shroud of Turin, along with 31 display panels that guided viewers through both the science and the sacred history surrounding it. Miss Carlson and Mrs. Rodgers spent time during their classes for students to experience the exhibit. Students and teachers alike left in amazement of seeing the Shroud and all of the incredible information shared. #MTA

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Northwestern Pennsylvania are hosting their 37th annual Thanksgiving dinner, and they invited all MTA students to help by create cards to include in every meal bag. Fourth grade had the special opportunity to hear from Sr. Mary Drexler and Mrs. Almi Clerkin about the dinner, their service to the community, and the positive impact our students can make through something as simple as a heartfelt card. We loved having them here with us! Their visit was both inspiring and greatly appreciated. #MTA #Community

To review proportional relationships, seventh grade rotated among four stations to solve Thanksgiving-themed math challenges. One of the stations required students to find the number of cups of cocoa needed for a variety of people, and they were surprised with hot cocoa to enjoy! #MTA #MathFun ☕

Second grade has been bringing in their completed “Turkey in Disguise” projects this week! Students have two weeks to create a disguised turkey and write a persuasive essay to convince their audience they are NOT a turkey. It is a perfect way to get in the Thanksgiving spirit! #MTA 🦃
